DESCRIPTION

[Nle10]-Neurokinin A (4-10) is a seven-residue analog of the C-terminal active fragment of Neurokinin A. The native C-terminal methionine is replaced by norleucine while the remaining NKA(4-10) sequence is preserved.

The peptide is a classical selective NK2 receptor agonist and is useful for investigating how the C-terminal hydrophobic residue contributes to Neurokinin A recognition and receptor activation.

Met10 to Norleucine Substitution

Norleucine is a hydrophobic, non-sulfur-containing analog of methionine. Replacing Met10 with Nle preserves a similar hydrophobic side-chain length while removing the thioether group that is susceptible to oxidation.

This makes [Nle10]-NKA(4-10) particularly useful when researchers want to retain a C-terminal hydrophobic residue without the oxidation liability associated with methionine.
