DESCRIPTION

Exendin-4 (3-39) is a 37-residue N-terminally truncated derivative of Exendin-4 used as a peptide antagonist in glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R) research. Removal of the first two residues substantially reduces receptor activation while preserving much of the high-affinity receptor-binding architecture of the parent peptide.

This separation between binding and activation makes Exendin-4 (3-39) useful for receptor pharmacology, competition assays and studies of the N-terminal activation domain of class B1 GPCR peptide ligands.
