DESCRIPTION

ent-Amyloid β-Protein (1-42) is a synthetic peptide composed entirely of D-amino acid enantiomers, representing the mirror-image counterpart of the native L-amino acid-based Aβ(1-42) peptide associated with Alzheimer’s disease. This "ent-" (enantiomeric) variant retains the same amino acid sequence as wild-type Aβ(1-42) but with each residue in its D-configuration, disrupting the natural secondary structure formation and hydrophobic interactions critical for aggregation.
