Cetrorelix Acetate is a synthetic gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonist used in assisted reproductive technologies (ART) to prevent premature luteinizing hormone (LH) surges. It competitively blocks GnRH receptors in the pituitary gland, inhibiting LH release and optimizing ovarian stimulation protocols for in vitro fertilization (IVF). Administered as a subcutaneous injection, it offers rapid onset and short duration of action, reducing the risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS).
