Leuprorelin Acetate is a synthetic gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist used in hormone therapy for prostate cancer, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, and central precocious puberty. By binding to pituitary GnRH receptors, it initially triggers a surge in luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), followed by sustained suppression of these hormones. This leads to reduced testosterone levels in men and estrogen levels in women, inhibiting the growth of hormone-dependent cancers and alleviating gynecological symptoms.
