DESCRIPTION

Biotin-Gastrin (1-17) is a synthetic peptide conjugate that links biotin to the N-terminal 17-amino acid sequence of human gastrin, a hormone critical for regulating gastric acid secretion and gastrointestinal cell growth. The biotin moiety enables easy detection and purification via streptavidin-based methods, while the gastrin fragment retains binding affinity for cholecystokinin type 2 receptors (CCK2R), which are overexpressed in certain cancers, including gastric and pancreatic tumors. This conjugate is used in research to study gastrin-receptor interactions, develop receptor-targeted imaging agents, or facilitate the delivery of therapeutic payloads to CCK2R-positive cells. Its dual functionality makes it a valuable tool for both basic studies of gastrin signaling and the development of targeted diagnostic or therapeutic strategies in oncology.
