DESCRIPTION

Substance P (3-11), also known as Nona Substance P, is the nine-residue C-terminal fragment Lys-Pro-Gln-Gln-Phe-Phe-Gly-Leu-Met-NH2. It lacks only the N-terminal Arg-Pro sequence while retaining Lys3 and the complete amidated C-terminal pharmacophore.

Compared with shorter SP fragments, SP(3-11) preserves more of the native peptide's charge distribution and backbone length. It is useful for systematic truncation studies, peptide-processing research and experiments examining how the first two residues contribute to Substance P recognition.
